header_2_font_size_phone=&#8221;32px&#8221; header_2_font_size_last_edited=&#8221;on|phone&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h2>Affordable and Safe Childcare Is Essential to our Economic Recovery and the Ongoing Health of our Region<\/h2>\n<p>Recognizing this, the San Diego County Board of Supervisors unanimously voted to provide <strong>$25 million in CARES Act funding<\/strong> to establish the San Diego County Childcare Provider Grant Program in August of 2020. To distribute these funds to eligible childcare providers, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sandiegocounty.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>County of San Diego<\/strong><\/a> partnered with <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sdfoundation.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The San Diego Foundation<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/cdasd.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Child Development Associates<\/a><\/strong> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ymcasd.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>YMCA of San Diego County<\/strong><\/a> to manage the application, verification and grantmaking process.<\/p>\n<p>The program helped more than <strong>3,300<\/strong> <strong>childcare providers<\/strong> keep their doors open amid incredibly challenging economic conditions. In all, more than <strong>81,000 children<\/strong> were served in <strong>90 zip codes<\/strong> across the county, allowing working parents to stay on the job, put food on the table, and contribute to our economy.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=&#8221;2_5&#8243;
